Chapter 2: Installing the PowerStation

Selecting a Location

Enclosure Guidelines

Select an enclosure that is large enough to allow free airflow in and around the unit. You should allow a minimum of 2 inches between the enclosure and the top, bottom, and sides of the PA PowerStation to allow access to the cabling and CompactFlash.

Also, make sure that the surface of the enclosure on which the PA

PowerStation is mounted is flat and free of raised or depressed areas.

Radiated Emissions Guidelines

This PowerStation has been tested to comply with international electromagnetic and emission standards. To reduce radiated emissions, ensure that there is a good earth connection to the PowerStation, which can be accomplished by utilizing the grounding stud located on the rear chassis of the product. This connection must be made with the shortest possible, heavy gage wire or braided cable. Low-resistance (<0.5 ohms) continuity should be verified with an ohmmeter for proper grounding. In addition, all communication cables should be shielded and grounded on only one end.
