To Use the Flash1 Select a capture mode.2 Slide the b lever.

The flash pops up and begins charging.

b (red) blinks on the display while charging.

When the flash is fully charged, the icon of the selected flash mode appears on the display (not displayed in Cmode).

3 Press the shutter release button halfway.

The focus frame (or face detection frame) on the display turns green when the camera focuses on the subject at the correct distance.

4 Press the shutter release button fully.The flash discharges and the picture is taken.5 Push the flash down to retract.To Compensate Flash Output

You can change the flash output in a range of –2.0 to +1.0 in increments of 1/3 EV.

The flash compensation value is displayed. Press the d/i button to reset the value to 0.0.

• When the flash output exceeds its maximum amount, the compensation will not be effective even if the compensation value is set to the plus (+) side.

Compensating to the minus (-) side may have no effect if the subject is too close, the aperture is set to a large opening, or sensitivity is high.
