Use’Manual Recording’ to make a spontaneous recording (for
example,a programme currently being shown).
EIfyou want to start and stop a recording manually, read

EIfyou want to start a recording manually but have it
stoppedautomatically, read the section: ’Recording with
automaticswitch-off’.

Recording without automatic switch-off

aInserta cassette.
bUsethe PpAB buttonto select the programme
numberyou want to record, for example, ’P01’.
DProgrammenumber ’E1’ is provided for recording
fromexternal sources (via the EXT.1 scart socket).
cTostart recording, press the RECORD/OTRnbutton on the
remotecontrol or 5on the TV-VIDEO Combi.
Whenyou are recording, the red recording light at the
frontpanel of the TV-VIDEO Combi will be lit.
dStoprecording with the STOP hbutton.
DDuringa recording you can only watch the current
programme.
DToswitch off the screen, press the STANDBYm
button.

Recording with automatic switch-off

(OTR one-touch-recording)

aPuta cassette in the machine.
bUsethe PpAB buttonto select the programme
numberyou want to record.
cPressthe RECORD/OTRnbutton on the remote control.
Whenyou are recording, the red recording light at the
frontpanel of the TV-VIDEO Combi will be lit.
dPressthe RECORD/OTRnbutton again and again until the
displayon the TV-VIDEO Combi shows the desired end
timeor length of the recording.
DTocancel this information, press the CLEAR button.
eConfirmwith the OK button.
fToend, press the MENU button.

Protecting your recordings

Sothat you don’t accidentally delete animportant recording,
removethe special tab on the narrow side of the cassette with
ascrewdriver or slide the special tab to the left. Later, if you
nolonger want to protect your recording, you can seal the gap
againwith sticky tape or slide the special tab to the right.

Auto-assembling

Youcan use the auto-assembling function to join individual
recordingswithout any major picture disturbance between
them.
aWhilethe cassette is playing, search for the correct
positionon the tape.
bStopthe cassette by pressing the STOP hbutton.
Pause’will appear on the TV screen.
cNowstart recording as usual by pressing the
RECORD/OTRnbutton on the remote control.

Selecting the recording speed (SP or LP)

Youcan reduce the recording speed by half. This makes it
possibleto record, for example, eight-hours instead of
four-hourson an ’E240´ (four-hour) cassette.
aPressthe MENU button.The main menu appears.
bSelectthe line ’Tape’ with the PrB or APq
button,and confirm with the SqC button.
cSelectthe line ’Tape speed’ with the PrB or
APqbutton.
dSelectthe required recording speed with the DSr or
SqC button.
DLP:LongPlay = half recording speed (double
recordingtime).
SP:StandardPlay = normal recording speed.
DThepicture quality will be adversely affected when
recordingat half recording speed (’LP´).
DForplayback, the correct recording speed will
automaticallybe selected.
eConfirmwith the OK button.
fToend, press the MENU button.
