6 Troubleshooting
Warning

To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair the player yourself.
If you have problems using this player, check the following points before you request service. If you still
have a problem, visit www.philips.com/welcome.
If you contact Customer Care Center, you will be asked for the model and serial number of this player.
The model number and serial number are on the back of this player. Write the numbers here:

Main unit

The buttons on this pl ayer do not work.
Disconnect this playe r from the power supply for a few min utes, and then reconn ect.

Picture

No picture.
Make sure that the T V is switched to the corr ect source input for th is player.
For the composite conn ection (via the VIDEO connector) to the TV, on thi s player select a
video resolutio n of 480i/576i or 480p/576p unde r [HDMI Video] to enable video output.
No picture on HDMI connec tion.
Make sure that the HD MI cable is not faulty. If it is f aulty, replace with a new H DMI cable.
On the remote contr ol, press and then press “731” (numer ic buttons) to recover pict ure
display. Or wait for 10 seconds for a uto recovery.
If this player is connec ted to an unauthorized di splay device with an HDM I cable, the audio and
video signals may not be ou tput.
The disc does not play high-definition video.
Make sure that the disc contains high-definition video.
Make sure that the T V supports high- definition video.

Sound

No audio output from the T V.
Make sure that the aud io cables are connecte d to the audio input of the T V.
Make sure that the T V is switched to the corr ect source input for th is player.
No audio output from the lou dspeakers of the extern al audio device (home theater or am plifier).
Make sure that the aud io cables are connect ed to the audio input of the aud io device.
Switch the exter nal audio device to the cor rect audio source inp ut.
