Helpful Hints

You cannot view closed captioning of a tape when the TV/VCR is in Counter Only mode. To view closed captions of a tape, choose ON or OFF in the ON-SCREEN MODE menu. Details are on page 26.

Abbreviations, symbols, and other grammatical shortcuts are often used in order to keep pace with the on-screen action. This does not indi- cate a problem with the TV/VCR.

To cancel closed captioning, follow steps 1 - 2 on page 38. At step 3, press the REW(ind)/– button or the F.FWD/+ button to select OFF. Press the STATUS/EXIT button.

When you change channels, the closed captioning may be delayed for a few seconds.

When you adjust the volume or mute the volume, closed captioning may be delayed for a few seconds.
