Troubleshooting
Warning

To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair the player yourself.
If you have problems using this player, check the following points before you request service. If you still
have a problem, register your player and get support at www.philips.com/welcome.
If you contact Philips, you will be asked for the model and serial number of this player. The model
number and serial number are on the back of this player. Write the numbers here:

No picture.
Refer to the TV use r manual for how to select the co rrect video input c hannel.
Switch to the defaul t mode if the progressive s can setting or the TV s ystem setting is cha nged.
No picture on HDMI connection.
If this player is connec ted to an unauthorize d display device, the audio /video signal cannot be
output.
If the HDMI cabl e is faulty, replace it with a n ew HDMI cable.
If you have changed the set ting for HDMI video res olution, switch to it s default mode.
No sound output from the TV.
Make sure that the a udio cables are connec ted to the audio input socket s that are grouped wit h
the selected vid eo input sockets.
No sound on HDMI connection.
If the connecte d device is non-HDCP com pliant or only DVI-comp atible, no sound can be
heard from the H DMI output.
Make sure that [HDMI Audio] is set to [On].
No sound during DivX video playback.
The audio codes ar e not supported.
Disc or USB storage device cannot be read.
Make sure that this p layer supports the d isc or USB storage devi ce. (Refer to “ Specifications” >
Playable media”)
For a recorded disc , make sure that the disc is fin alized.
Recorded files (JPEG, MP3, WMA) cannot be played or read.
Make sure that the fi le was recorded in the for mat of UDF, ISO9660, or JOLIE T.
Make sure that the n umber of files does not exceed th e limitation (648 files ma ximum).
Make sure that this p layer supports thes e files. (Refer to “ Specifications” > “Playable media”)
