Audio dubbing
Thisfunction enables you to replace (dub) the sound track of
anexisting recording with another sound track. To do this,
connectan audio source (e.g.: a CD-player) to the
L-AUDIO-R (programmenumber ’E3’) socket.
aSwitchon the TV set. If required, select the programme
numberfor the video recorder.
bPressthe MENU button.The main menu appears.
cSelectthe line ’RECORD FUNCTIONS’ with the menu
buttons P=or P;andconfirm with the Pbutton.
dSelectthe line ’AUDIO DUBBING’ with the menu buttons
P=or P;andconfirm with the Pbutton.
eSelectthe programme number for the audio source (e.g.:
’E3’).Switch on the external audio source.
fDuringplayback, locate the position on the tape at which
theaudio dubbing is to end.
gPressthe STILL Rbutton. ’STILL’ appears on the TV
screen.
hPressthe CLEAR(CL) button.’0:00:00’ appears on theTV
screen.
iLocatethe position at which the audio dubbing is to start.
jPressthe STILL Rbutton. ’STILL’ appears on the TV
screen.
kPressthe STOP hbutton.
lPressthe RECORD/OTRnbutton. The video recorder will
startto record the sound transmitted from the audio
source.The normal (linear) sound track is re-recorded,
thestereo sound will remain.
Theaudio recording stops automatically when the
counterreaches ’0:00:00’.
mToend audio dubbing,press the MENU button.
DToplay back the audio dubbing, read the section ’Sound
trackselection’ in chapter 5, ’ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS’.
Selecting the sound track
Youcan select the required sound track. This is of particular
interestwhen the audio transmissions are multilingual.
aPressthe SELECT button. The current setting will appear
onthe TV screen.
bBypressing the SELECT button several times you can
selectfrom the fourpossibilities displayed (’STEREO’,
’RIGHT’,’LEFT’, ’MONO’).
DDuringplayback you can select a fifth possibility: the
’MIXED’mode. In this mode you can playback the mono
soundof the normal (linear) audio track together with the
soundof the stereo audio track.
DIfthere is no stereo sound recorded on the cassette, the
videorecorder automatically switches to mono sound.
Synchronous editing (synchro-edit)
Youcan synchronously copy between this video recorder and
anappropriately equiped camera recorder. Bothunits are
startedat the same time with the help of a synchronous
impulseand an adjustable start delay (=preroll time).

SYNCHROEDIT on the left frontof the video recorder).
Connectthe video/audio source to the input sockets
L-AUDIO-R and VIDEO (programmenumber ’E3’) of the
videorecorder.
