Reducing picture disturbance(’optimizing the modulator’)
Youmay experience picture disturbance if you have not used
ascart cable to connect your video recorder and TV. This is
becauseanother TV station in your reception areamay
alreadybe using UHF-channel CH35 or 583MHz.
aMakesure that there is no cassette in the video recorder.
Onthe video recorder, simultaneously hold the
EJECTJand the PROG.rbutton for a few seconds until
e.g.:’CH35’or583’appears in the display.The video
recorderwill transmit a test picture on UHF-channel 35(or
frequency583Mhz).

bInline ’CHANNEL/FREQ.’ select the indication for
channel’CH’ or frequency ’FREQ.’, using the Cor
Dbutton.
cSelectthe line ’OPTIMIZE’ with the Aor Bbutton.
Pressthe Cbutton.
dWhenthe video recorder finds a ’free’ TV channel, the
channelor frequency will be indicated.
DYoucan also enter the channel or frequency directly
withthe digit buttons 0-9 .
eTunein the TV set in this channel or frequency.
fConfirmthe channel or frequency indicated with the
OK button.
gToend, press the MENU button.
Switching off the modulator
Ifyou cannot clear picture or sound interference, you can
switchoff the built-in modulator. You should only do this if you
haveconnected the video recorder to the TV set with a scart
cable.’Connecting VCR without scart cable’ is not possible
whenthe modulator is switched off.
DWiththe function ’EasyLink/NexTView’ the
modulatorwill be switched off automatically.
aSwitchon the TV set and select the programme number
forthe video recorder.
bMakesure that no cassette is in the video recorder. On
thevideo recorder, press the EJECTJand PROG. r
buttonat the same time for several seconds, until, for
example,’CH35’or’583’appearson the video recorder
display.
cSelectthe line ’MODULATOR’ on the TV screen or ’M ON’
inthe display with the Aor Bbutton.
dWiththe Dor Cbutton, select the function ’OFF’on
theTV screen or ’MOFF’ (modulator off) in the display.
Select’ON’ on the TV screen or ’M ON’ (modulator on) in
thedisplay to switch the modulator back on.
eConfirmwith the OK button.
fToend, press the MENU button.
