nalead as far as possible from other antenna
leads.Do not bind them together, lay or route
themtogether, or cross them. Such electro-
magneticnoise will increase the potential for
errorsin the location display.
Before installing
!Consultwith your nearest dealer if installa-
tionrequires the drilling of holes or other
modificationsof the vehicle.
!Beforemaking a final installation of this
product,temporarily connect the wiring to
confirmthat the connections are correct
andthe system works properly.

Installation notes

!Donot install this navigation system in
placeswhere it may become subject to
hightemperatures or humidity, such as:
Placesclose to a heater, vent or air con-
ditioner.
Placesexposed to direct sunlight, such
ason top of the dashboard.
Placesthat may be splashed by rain, for
exampleclose to the door.
!Installthis navigation system in an area
strongenough to bear its weight. Choose a
positionwhere this navigation system can
befirmly installed, and install it securely. If
thisnavigation system is not securely in-
stalled,the current location of the vehicle
cannotbe displayed correctly.
!Installthe navigation unit horizontally on a
surfacewithin 0 degreesto 30 degrees tol-
erance(within 10 degrees to the left or
right).Improper installation of the unit with
thesurface tilted morethan these toler-
ancesincreases the potential for errors in
thelocation display, and might otherwise
causereduced display performance.
!Thecords must not cover up the area
shownin the figure below. This is neces-
saryto allow the amps and navigation me-
chanismto dissipate heat.
Donot cover this area.
!Thesemiconductor laser will be damaged
ifit overheats, so dont install the naviga-
tionunit anywhere hot for instance, near
aheater outlet.
