Installing the GPS antenna
CAUTION
Donot cut the GPS antenna lead to shorten
itor use an extension to make it longer. Alter-
ingthe antenna cable could result in a short
circuitor malfunction and permanent da-
mageto the navigation system.

Installation notes

!Theantenna should be installed on a level
surfacewhere radio waveswill be blocked
aslittle as possible. Radio waves cannot be
receivedby the antenna if reception from
thesatellite is blocked. Installation on the
vehicleroof or trunk lid is recommended to
optimizereception.

!Wheninstalling the GPS antenna inside
thevehicle, be sure to use the metal sheet
providedwith your system. If this is not
used,the reception sensitivity will be poor.
!Donot cut the accessory metalsheet. This
wouldreduce the sensitivity of the GPS an-
tenna.
!Takecare not to pull the antenna lead when
removingthe GPS antenna. The magnet at-
tachedto the antenna is ver y powerful, and
thelead may become detached.
!TheGPS antenna is installed with a mag-
net.When installing the GPS antenna, be
carefulnot to scratch the vehicle body.
!Wheninstalling the GPS antenna on the
outsideof the vehicle, always put itin the
vehiclewhen going through an automatic
vehiclewash. If it is left on the outsideit
maybe knocked off and scratch the vehicle
body.
!Donot paint the GPS antenna, as this may
affectits performance.
