Connecting a cellular phone
Touse a phone wirelessly with this unit, it is
necessaryfirst to establish aconnection using
Bluetoothwireless technology. There are sev-
eralways you can do this.
!Connectionis normally established by HFP,
whichgives you a full control of functions
availableon the telephone source. How-
ever,in some cases when you make con-
nectionfrom your cellular phone, the
connectionmay bemade by HSPand sev-
eralfunctions may not be available.
!Aphone may be connected via Bluetooth
wirelesstechnology but not yet registered
withthis unit. In this case it is said to be
temporarilyconnected, and the available
featuresare limited. To take full advantage
ofall the features available, we recommend
youregister your phone with thisunit.

Searchingfor available cellular

phones

Youcan have this unit search for any available
phonesin the area that have Bluetooth wire-
lesstechnology, then select which you want to
connectto from a list displayed on-screen.
1 TouchPHONE CONNECT on the function
menu.
2 TouchSearch to search for available cel-
lularphones.
Whilesearching, SEARCHING is displayed.
Whenavailable cellular phones featuring
Bluetoothwireless technology are found, de-
vicenames or Name Not Found (if names
cannotbe obtained) are displayed.
#Ifthis unit fails to find any available cellular
phones,NOT FOUND is displayed.
3 Touchthe device name you want to
connect.
Whileconnecting, CONNECTING is displayed.
Tocomplete the connection, please check the
devicename (Pioneer BTunit) and enter the
linkcode on your cellular phone. If the con-
nectionis established, CONNECTED is dis-
played.
#Thelink code is set to 0000 as default. You
canchange this code in the initial setting. Refer
toEntering PIN code for Bluetooth wireless con-
nectionon page 24.

Using a cellular phone to

initiate a connection

Puttingthe unit in Connection open mode al-
lowsyou to establish a Bluetooth wireless con-
nectionfrom your phone. You may need to
referto the operation manual that came with
yourphone if you are unsure how to initiate a
connectionfrom your phone.
1 TouchPHONE CONNECT on the function
menu.
2 TouchCONNECTION OPEN.
Theunit is now on standby for connection
fromcellular phone.
3 Usecellular phone to connect to this
unit.
#Operationvaries depending on the type of
yourcellular phone. Refer to the instruction man-
ualthat came with your cellular phone for de-
tailedinstructions.
#Youmay need to enter the link code on your
cellularphone to complete the connection.
#Thelink code is set to 0000 as default. You
canchange this code in the initial setting. Refer
