Basic Operations
1MP3/WMA/AACindicator
Showsthe type of file currently playing.
2Foldernumber indicator
Showsthe folder number currently playing.
3Tracknumber indicator
Showsthe track (file) number currently play-
ing.
4Playtime indicator
Showsthe elapsed playing time of the cur-
renttrack (file).
5Bitrate indicator
Showsthe bit rate of the current audio file.
1 PressSOURCE to select USB.
Playbackstarts.
#Theremay be a slight delay when starting
playbackof audio files depending on the kindof
USBportable audio player/USB memory used.
2 PushMULTI-CONTROL up or down to
selecta folder.
#Youcannot select a folder that does not have
acompressed audio file recorded in it.
#Toreturn to folder 01 (ROOT), press and hold
BAND(BAND/ESC). However, if folder 01 (ROOT)
containsno files, playback commences with
folder02.
3 Toperform fast forward or reverse,
pushand hold MULTI-CONTROL left or
right.
4 Toskip back or forward to another
audiofile, push MULTI-CONTROL left or
right.
PushingMULTI-CONTROL right skips to the
startof the next audio file. Pushing
MULTI-CONTROLleft once skips to the start
ofthe current audio file. Pushing again will
skipto the previous audio file.
Notes
!Playbackis carried out in order of file number.
Foldersare skipped if they contain no files. (If
folder01 (ROOT) contains no files, playback
commenceswith folder 02.)
!Whenplaying back files recorded as VBR
(variablebit rate) files, the play time will not be
correctlydisplayed if fast forward or reverse
operationsare used.
!Whenplaying back VBR-recorded WMA files,
theaverage bit rate value is displayed.
!Whenplaying back VBR (variable bit rate)-re-
cordedMP3 files, VBR is displayed instead of
bitrate value.
!Thereis no sound on fast forward or reverse.
!Ifan error message such as NO AUDIO is dis-
played,refer to Error messages on page 18.
!Whenthe display setting is switched to the
textinformation by pressing DISPLAY, the text
automaticallybegin to scroll in the display.
WhenEver Scroll is set to ON at the initial set-
ting,folder and file name scroll continuously.
