Application Configuration File

The configuration file sip.cfg contains SIP protocol and core configuration settings that would typically apply to an entire installation and must be set before the phones will be operational, unless changed through the local web server interface or local menu settings on the phone.

The important parameters for the Polycom VVX 1500 D phone include:

Protocol <voIpProt/>—Specify H.323 protocol, server, gatekeeper, and DTMF signaling parameters.

User Preferences <up/>—Specify call routing parameters.

Video Settings <video/>—Specify the video call rate.

Call Handling Configuration <call/>—Specify call routing parameters and auto-answer parameters.

Event Logging <log/>—Specify basic logging levels.

Security <sec/>—Specify H.323 media encryption parameters

Microbrowser <mb/>—Specify the Application browser home page, a proxy to use, and size limits.

Protocol <voIpProt/>

Edit the voIpProt parameter as shown below:

Enable the H.323 protocol.

Disable the SIP protocol.
