This indicator shows the amount of time left for the rechargeable battery (or alkaline “AA” batteries).

Details are on page 17.

8TAPE, NO TAPE, and TAPE END

TAPE flashes when you try to record and the safety tab has been closed.

TAPE flashes when a tape is inserted in the camcorder and moisture is present or the tape is damaged. Moisture may develop when the camcorder is moved from a cold area to a warm area. Remove the tape and wait an hour before reinserting. If the tape is damaged, remove the tape and replace it.

TAPE END flashes when there is approximately three minutes of recording time left on the cassette.

TAPE END appears briefly during recording when the end of the cassette is reached.

9 Time and Date

These displays will be recorded on the tape whenever they appear in the viewfinder.
