Installing Body Assembly in an Open 1-Sided or 2-Sided Installation

Steel framing options are available for the open 1-sided and open 2-sided installations. For ease of installation, Rinnai provides a steel frame as a kit. Refer to the separate detailed instructions for assembly of the steel frame.

To enhance the durability of any type of framing, it is suggested that the frame is mounted on a paved slab

9.5inches (250 mm) above unpaved ground and 5.9 inches (150 mm) above paved ground.

Prepare Framing Dimensions

If framing is made of a combustible material, ensure the following minimum framing dimensions and clearances:

Cross members above the appliance must be non-combustible.

Metal lintels are provided with the purchase of the 1- sided and 2-sided fireplaces. Metal lintels are also offered separately (R2629).

Non-combustible cladding is required over the entire frame.

Metal Lintel

Designed to sit above the appliance and replace combustible framing in areas above the appliance.

To install:

1.Take out and undo 4 fastening screws at either end.

2.Flip side sections 180° and loosely refit screws.

3.Adjust to the desired length before tightening.
