Connecting to Other Devices

Preventing Doubled Notes When Connected to a Sequencer (Local Control)

When you have a MIDI sequencer connected, set this parameter to Local Off.

Since the Thru function of your sequencer will normally be turned on, notes played on the keyboard or played back by the sequencer will be transmitted to the sound generator by the two routes (1) and

(2)shown in the illustration, causing notes to be sounded in duplicate or to be cut off unnaturally. To prevent this, the setting called “Local Off” is used to disconnect the route in (1).

MIDI Transmit Channel Settings (MIDI Transmit Ch.)

This setting specifies the MIDI channel on which the HP307 will transmit. MIDI uses sixteen “MIDI channels,” which are numbered 1 through 16. By connecting MIDI devices and specifying the appropriate MIDI channel for each device, you can play or select sounds on those devices.

The HP307 will receive all sixteen channels (1–16).
