OPERATION

MOUNTING HOLES

Your cut-off machine should be permanently mounted to a firm supporting surface such as workbench. The four bolt holes that secure the feet on the bottom of the base can be used for this purpose. Using a 6 mm hex key, remove bolts, washers, and feet from bottom of cut-off machine. The four mounting holes should be bolted securely using 8 mm machine bolts, lock washers, and flat washers (not in- cluded). Bolts should be of sufficient length to accommodate lock washers, flat washers, thickness of the workbench, and sufficiently engage bolt hole threads in bottom of the base.

Tighten all four bolts securely.

The hole pattern for mounting to a workbench is shown in figure 16. Carefully check the workbench after mounting to make sure that no movement can occur during use. If any tipping, sliding, or walking is noted, secure workbench to the floor before operating.

WARNING:

Always make sure your cut-off machine is securely mounted to a workbench or an approved workstand. Failure to do so could result in an accident resulting in possible serious personal injury.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING:

When servicing, use only identical Ryobi replacement parts. Use of any other part may create a hazard or cause product damage.

GENERAL

Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use a clean cloth to remove dirt, carbon dust, etc.

CAUTION:

Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum- based products, penetrating oils, etc. come in contact with plastic parts. They contain chemicals that can damage, weaken or destroy plastic.

LUBRICATION

All of the bearings in this tool are lubricated with a sufficient amount of high grade lubricant for the life of the unit under normal operating conditions. Therefore, no further lubrica- tion is required.

EXTENSION CORDS

The use of any extension cord will cause some loss of power. To keep the loss to a minimum and to prevent tool overheating, use an extension cord that is heavy enough to carry the current the tool will draw.

A wire gage size (A.W.G.) of at least 14 is recommended for an extension cord 25 feet or less in length. When working outdoors, use an extension cord that is suitable for outdoor use. The cord's jacket will be marked WA.

WARNING:

Keep extension cords away from the cutting area and position the cord so that it will not get caught on materi- als, tools, etc., during cutting operation.

WARNING:

Check extension cords before each use. If damaged, replace immediately. Never use tool with a damaged cord since touching the damaged area could cause electrical shock resulting in serious injury.

WARNING:

Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation or when blowing dust. If operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.
