Notification settings:

Email notifications: When enabled, the New Email icon appears in the Status Bar when a new email arrives.

Select ring tone: Choose a ringtone for email notifications for this account.

Vibrate: When enabled, email notifications for this accounts are accompanied by vibration.

Server settings:

Incoming settings: Configure incoming server settings. For more information, refer to “Incoming Server Settings” on page 44.

Outgoing settings: Configure outgoing server settings. For more information, refer to “Outgoing Server Settings” on page 45.

Sync email: For accounts that can sync different kinds of information, check to sync email between your tablet and the email service.

Sync contacts: When enabled, contacts from your account are synchronized with your device’s Contacts.

Sync calendar: When enabled, events from your account are synchronized with your device’s Calendar.

Remove account:

Remove account: Remove the email account from your device.

Incoming Server Settings

Your account’s incoming settings are different, depending on the kind of email service for the account: POP3, IMAP, or Exchange ActiveSync.

POP3 accounts

Username: Depending on the requirements of your email service provider, your full email address or just your username (that is, the part before @emailprovider.com in your email address).

Password: The password for your email account, which should carry forward from the previous screen.

POP3 server: he fully resolved domain name of your email service provider’s POP3 server, for example, pop3.emailprovider.com.

Security type: Select the security type required by your email service provider. Select the SSL (Accept all certificates) option for your security type to accept a server certificate from your POP3 server that is self- signed, out of date, or in some other way not accepted by the Email application.

Port: Set the Security type first to enter the typical server port number in this field automatically. Or enter a different port number if your email service provider requires it.

Delete email from server: Use to configure Email to cause your email service provider to delete from its server any email you delete in the Email application, or to never delete email from the server.

IMAP accounts

Username: Depending on the requirements of your email service provider, your full email address or just your username (that is, the part before @emailprovider.com in your email address).

Password: The password for your email account, which should carry forward from the previous screen.
