Upplösning

Anger bildstorleken i antal pixlar. Ju fler pixlar som bygger upp bilden, desto större blir den.

Känslighet

Ljusstyrkan. Med hög känslighet kan bilderna tas med kort slutartid, t.o.m. i mörker, varvid skakningsoskärpa minskas. Bilder med hög känslighet är emellertid mottagligare för brus.

Slutartid

Den tid som slutaren är öppen och ljus träffar CCD:n. Den mängd ljus som träffar CCD:n kan ändras genom att ändra slutartiden.

sRGB (standard RGB)

Internationell standard för färgmodell upprättad av IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). Den har tagits från färgmodellen för datorskärmar och används även som standard färgmodell för Exif.

Vinjettering

Vinjettering inträffar när delar av bilder förmörkas p.g.a. att motivet skymdes av motljusskydd eller filter, eller blixten var skymd.

Vitbalans

Under fotografering justeras färgtemperaturen att passa ljuskällan, så att motivet verkar ha rätt färg.
