Metering

The metering mode refers to the way in which a camcorder measures the quantity of light. The brightness and lighting of your photos will vary depending on the metering mode you select.

PRECHECK!

Select the Photo record ( ) mode by pressing the MODE button. ￿page 27

1.Touch the Menu ( ) tab ￿ “Metering” ￿ then the desired submenu item.

2.To exit the menu, touch the Return ( ) tab.

Submenu items

Multi (): Meters the light by calculating the amount of light from different areas in the frame. Suitable for normal image capture.

Center (): The amount of light metered on the center of the frame influences the whole screen. Suitable for capturing people as the subject occupies a large portion of the frame.

Spot (): Measures only the center of the screen and determines aperture. Use this function when there is a very large brightness difference between background and objects.

xvYCC

Using the xvYCC function, you can record a video with an extended range of colors by expanding the camcorder’s color space. You can record a video of mulit-hued flowers in more vibrant color.
