White Balance

The color of your image depends on the type and quality of the light source. If you want the color of your image to be realistic, select an appropriate lighting condition to calibrate the white balance.

PRECHECK!

Select the record ( 8IJUF#BMBODF / Manual background ) mode by pressing the MODE button. ￿page 27

1.Touch the Menu ( Manual background ) tab ￿“White Balance” ￿ then the desired submenu item.

You can move to the desired item by touching the Manual background / Manual background tab.

2.Touch the ( OK ) tab or selected submenu item again to complete the setting.

3.To exit the menu, touch the Return ( Manual background ) tab.

Submenu items

Auto: Adjusts the white balance automatically according to the recording conditions.

Daylight (Manual backgroundManual backgroundManual background): Use outdoors in normal daylight. Adjusts the white balance according to outdoor lighting conditions.

Cloudy (Manual background): Use when recording in the shade or cloudy

weather.

Fluorescent (Manual backgroundManual backgroundManual backgroundManual backgroundManual background): Use when recording under white fluorescent lights.

Tungsten (Manual backgroundManual backgroundManual background): Use when recording under halogen lamps and incandescent lights.

Custom WB ( Manual background): Lets you manually adjust the white balance to match the light source or situation.

White balance (WB) is the process of removing unrealistic color casts, so that objects which appear white are rendered white in your image. Proper white balance has to take into account the “color temperature” of a light source, which refers to the relative warmth or coolness of white light.
