Vrijednost ekspozicije je ukupna dopuštena količina svjetla koja pada na medij za fotografiranje (fotografski film ili senzor slike) za vrijeme snimanja fotografija ili video zapisa.

U niže navedenim situacijama preporučuje se ručna ekspozicija:

•Pri snimanju pomoću stražnjeg osvjeljenja ili kada je pozadina isuviše svijetla.

•Pri snimanju prirodne pozadine s odsjajem poput plaže ili prilikom skijanja.

•Kada je pozadina isuviše tamna ili je predmet svijetao.

• Ekspoziciju također možete podesiti u izborniku prečica. ￿stranica 26

•Brzina blende također varira i to automatski ovisno o EV vrijednosti..
