TheCROSS WALK features the innovativeACCUSMART
console, designed to help you getthe most fromyour
workouts. The ACCUSMART console offers electronic
speedcontrol, finger-touch inclinecontrol and a motiva-
tional fitness monitor with four independent displays.
Pleaseread the instructions below before operating the
console. Note: If thereis a sheet of clear plastic an the
face of. the console, remove it beforeoperating thecon-
sole.
INSTALLINGBATTERIES
Themotivational fitnessmonitor requires two "/_" bat-
teries(not included); alkaline batteries are recommend-
ed. Slide the baltery cover open. Remove thebattery clip
fromthe console. Find the markingsinside the battery
clip showingwhich direction the batteries shouldbe
turned. Pressthebatteries into the batteryclip. Replace
thebattery clip in the console and closethe battery
cover.

cord to the safely key. Slide the clip onto your waist-
band.
CAUTION: Do notstand on the walking beltwhile turn-
ing on the power. Alwayswear the clipwhile operat-
ingthe CROSS WALK.
Insertthe safelykey into the power switch.Thepower
indicatorwill light. The four displays of the motivational
fitnessmonitorwill not appear until the ON/CLEAR but-
ton ispressed or thewalking belt begins to move. (See
CONTROLLING THESPEEDOF THE WALKING BELT
below.) Note: If batteries were just installed, thefour dis-
playswill appear already.
CONTROLUNG THESPEEDOF THEWALKING BELT
Foryour safely, the walking belt will be motionlesseach
timethe power is turned on. To start the walking belt,
firstturn the speed control knob to the "RESET" position.
Next, turn the knobslowlyclockwise until thewalking
belt beginsto move at slowspeed.
CAUTION: After the knob is turned, there will be a
brief pause before the walking belt begins to move.
Adjustthe speed slowly until you are familiar with the
operation of the CROSSWALK.
TURNING ON THEPOWER
Steponto the foot rails ofthe CROSS WALK and hold
theupper body arms. (See OPERATING THE UPPER
Stepcarefully onto the walking belt and begin exercis-
ing. Change the speed of the walking belt as desired by
turning the speed control knob.To stopthe walking belt,
turn the knob to the "RESET" position. 7
