TROUBLE-SHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE
Most treadmill problems can be solved by following thesimple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and fol-
low the stepslisted. If further assistanceis needed, call our toll-free HOTUNE at 1-800-736-6879, Monday through
Saturday, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Central Time (excluding holidays).
1. SYMPTOM: THE POWER DOES NOT TURNON
a. Make surethat the power cord is plugged inproperly. (See PLUGGING IN THE POWERCORD on page 6.) If an
extension cord isneeded, use only a 14-gauge general-purpose cord of five feet or lessin length.
b. Make surethat the safetykey is inserted fully intothe console. Turnthe speedcontrol knob to the "reset" position.

Checkthe circuit breaker located onthe front of the frame. The
circuit breaker is designed to protect the electrical system.If the
circuit breaker has tripped, the switch wil! protrude as shown.
Toreset the circuit breaker, allow the CROSS WALK to cool for
five minutes, and then push the switch back in.

2. SYMPTOM: THEPOWERTURNS OFF DURINGUSE
a. Make surethat the power cord isplugged in.
b. Check the circuit breaker locatedon the front of the frame. If thecircuit breaker has tripped, the switchwill pro-
trude.(See the drawing above.)To resetthe circuit breaker, allow the CROSS WALK tocool for five minutes, and
thenpushthe switchback in.
c. Removethesafety key from the console. Reinsertthesafety key fullyinto the console.Turn the speedcontrol knob
to the "RESET"position.
3. SYMPTOM: THE MOTIVATIONAL FITNESSMONITOR DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY
a. Checkthe batteriesin the console. (See INSTAllING BATTERIESon page 7.) Most problemsare theresult of
drained batteries.
4. SYMPTOM: THECROSSWALK DOES NOT INCLINE
a. Stand at the back of the foot rails while increasing the incline. Stand at the front of thefoot rails and lean forward
whiledecreasing the incline.You may needto raise and lower the treadmill several timesto break in the incline
shock.(SeeCHANGING THE INCUNE on page 8.)
5. SYMPTOM: THE WALlaNG BELTSLOWSWHEN WALKED ON
a. Silicone lubricant mustbe applied tothe walking platform before the CROSS WALK isused. Lubricantshould be
reapplied after every 10 hoursof use,and whenever a decrease in performance is noticed. (See APPLYING SIU-
CONE LUBRICANTon page 6forapplication instructions.)Uni*Sport silicone spray is recommended. CAUTION:
ALWAYS UNPLUG THEPOWER CORD WHEN APPLYING LUBRICANT.
