TroubleshootingIf you are experiencing any problem with your display, before
calling for service, please review the following troubleshooting
tips.
There is no picture or sound.
• AretheACadapterandpowercordproperlyconnected?
(See page 13.)
•Isthemainpowerswitchoff?(Seepage15.)
•Isthemonitorinstandbymode(powerlampisoff)?(See
page15.)
•Ifanyexternalequipmentisconnected,makesurethe
equipmentisoperating(playingback).
Sound from left and right speakers is reversed.
Sound is heard from only one side.
• Areaudiocablesconnectedproperly?(Seepage12.)
There is a picture but no sound.
• Isthesoundmuted?
• Makesurethevolumeisnotsettominimum.
• Areaudiocablesconnectedproperly?
• IsthesettingofAUDIOSELECTontheSETUPmenu
correct?(Seepage20.)
• Istheheadphone(etc.)cableconnectedtotheheadphone
terminal?
The sound crackles.
• Turndownthevolume.
Withsomeinputdevices,thesoundmaycrackleathigh
volume.
Unstable video.
• Thesignalmaybeincompatible.
The video from DisplayPort input terminal does not
appear properly.
• IsthecableacertiedDisplayPortcable?Usethesupplied
cable.Themonitorwillnotworkunlessastandards-
compliant cable is used.
• Istheinputsignalcompatiblewiththismonitor?

The video does not appear properly even after the
DisplayPort STREAM setting is changed.
• Tryrestartingthemonitorandcomputer.
• IsthevideocardMST(MultiStream)compatible?Ifnot,set
toSST(SingleStream).
Control buttons do not work.
There is no picture.
• Loadnoisesfromoutsidemaybeinterferingwithnormal
operation.Turnoffthepowerandturnitonafterwaitingat
least5seconds,andthenchecktheoperation.
• Whenyoudisplaythescreenorclearthescreen,theleft
and right screen display timing may be slightly off; however,
this is not a problem.
Power LED ashes red.
“STATUS [xxxx]” appears in the corner of the screen.
•Hardwarehasaproblem.Turnoffthemonitorandrequest
repairfromyourSHARPdealer.
(WhenSTATUSALERTissettoOSD&LED.Thisvaries
depending on the setting.)
When “AUTO DIMMING” is displayed.
•
When the internal temperature of the monitor rises excessively,
thebrightnessofthebacklightautomaticallydecreasesin
order to prevent a further temperature rise.
If you attempt to use brightness adjustment button ( / ) to
adjustthebrightnesswhilethemonitorisinthisstate,“AUTO
DIMMING”isdisplayedandyoucannotchangethebrightness.
•Removethecauseoftheexcessivetemperaturerise.
The monitor makes a cracking sound.
•Youmayoccasionallyhearacrackingsoundfromthe
monitor.Thishappenswhenthecabinetslightlyexpands
andcontractsaccordingtochangeintemperature.This
does not affect the monitor’s performance.
The Power LED is ashing in red and green alternately.
When “TEMPERATURE” is displayed in the corner of the
screen.
•Whentheinternaltemperatureofthemonitorrises
excessively,thebrightnessofthebacklightdecreases
automaticallyinordertopreventhigh-temperature-
relatedproblems.Whenthisoccurs,“TEMPERATURE”is
displayedonthescreenandthePowerLEDashesred
andgreenalternately.(WhenTEMPERATUREALERTis
settoOSD&LED.Thisvariesdependingonthesetting.)
•Iftheinternaltemperaturerisesfurther,themonitor
automaticallyentersstandbymode.(ThePowerLED
continuesashingredandgreenalternately.)
•Removethecauseoftheexcessivetemperaturerise.
-Ifthemonitorentersstandbymodeduetoarisein
temperature, to return to normal display, turn the power
switchoffandthenbackonagain.Themonitor,however,
will enter standby mode again if the cause of the
temperature rise is not eliminated. (See page 7.)
-Checkwhetherthemonitorisplacedatalocationwhere
aquickriseintemperatureislikely.Internaltemperature
risesquicklyiftheventsonthemonitorareblocked.
-Internaltemperaturerisesquicklyifdustaccumulates
insidethemonitororaroundthevents.Removedustif
possible.AskSHARPdealeraboutremovinginternaldust.
A residual image has occurred.
After the image has changed, the previous image is faintly
visible.
•Displayingthesameimageforanextendedtimemay
cause a residual image.
•Toimprovearesidualimage,keepthepoweroff.Withthe
power off state, the residual image will gradually disappear
as time passes. If there is no improvement, display a full
white screen or an animated image.
