Disconnecting Your FireWire Portable CD-R/W

Your FireWire Portable CD-R/W is hot-pluggable; it can be connected and disconnected without restarting your computer. To disconnect your FireWire Portable CD-R/W at any time, simply repeat the following steps. You can also disconnect your FireWire Portable CD-R/W at any time while your computer is powered off.

For Mac OS Users:

1.If you have a CD in your FireWire Portable CD-R/W, eject it.

2.Disconnect your FireWire Portable CD-R/W from the FireWire cable.

For Windows Users:

1.If you have a CD in your FireWire Portable CD-R/W, eject it.

2.Click the Unplug or Eject Hardware button in the System Tray.

3.Select your FireWire Portable CD-R/W in the menu that appears.

After a moment, Windows will display a message that your hardware can be safely removed.

Note: If you forget to eject a CD before disconnecting your FireWire Portable CD-R/W, you will be unable to eject it with the eject button. Simply reconnect your FireWire Portable CD-R/W to retrieve your CD.
