INSTALLING THE SWITCH

5.If you are sure the module is properly mated with the connector, tighten the retainer screws to secure the module in the slot.

6.To confirm that the module is correctly installed and ready to use, connect an active device to the module, and verify that the corresponding port indicator on the switch’s front panel turns green to show that there is a valid link.

Installing an Optional SFP Transceiver

This switch supports 1000BASE-SX/LX/ZX SFP-compatible transceivers. To install an SFP transceiver, do the following:

1.Consider network and cabling requirements to select an appropriate SFP transceiver type.

2.Insert the transceiver with the optical connector facing outward and the slot connector facing down. Note that SFP transceivers are keyed so they can only be installed in one orientation.

3.Slide the SFP transceiver into the slot until it clicks into place.
