Moisture condensation

Ifyourcamcorderisbroughtdirectlyfromacoldplacetoawarmplace,moisturemay condenseinsideyourcamcorder,onthesurfaceofthetape,oronthelens. Inthis condition,thetapemaysticktotheheaddrumandbedamagedoryourcamcordermay notoperatecorrectly.Ifthereismoistureinsideyourcamcorder,thebeepsoundsand the %indicatorflashes.Whenthe Zindicatorflashesatthesametime,thecassetteis insertedinyourcamcorder.Ifmoisturecondensesonthelens,theindicatorwillnot appear.

If moisture condensation occurred

Noneofthefunctionsexceptcassetteejectionwillwork.Ejectthecassette,turnoffyour camcorder,andleaveitforabout1hourwiththecassettecompartmentopen.Your camcordercanbeusedagainifthe %indicatordoesnotappearwhenthepoweris turnedonagain.

Moisturemaycondensewhenyoubringyourcamcorderfromacoldplaceintoawarm place(orviceversa)orwhenyouuseyourcamcorderinahotplaceasfollows:

•Youbringyourcamcorderfromaskislopeintoaplacewarmedupbyaheating device

•Youbringyourcamcorderfromanair-conditionedcarorroomintoahotplace outside

•Youuseyourcamcorderafterasquallorashower

•Youuseyourcamcorderinahightemperatureandhumidityplace

How to prevent moisture condensation

Whenyoubringyourcamcorderfromacoldplaceintoawarmplace,putyour camcorderinaplasticbagandtightlysealit.Removethebagwhentheairtemperature insidetheplasticbaghasreachedthesurroundingtemperature(afterabout1hour).
