Camcorder operation

•Operateyourcamcorderon7.2V(batterypack)or8.4V(ACpoweradaptor). •ForDCorACoperation,usetheaccessoriesrecommendedinthisoperating

instructions.

•Ifanysolidobjectorliquidgetinsidethecasing,unplugyourcamcorderandhaveit checkedbyaSonydealerbeforeoperatingitanyfurther.

•Avoidroughhandlingormechanicalshock.Beparticularlycarefulofthelens. •Keep the POWER switch set to OFF (CHARGE) when you are not using your

camcorder.

•Donotwrapyourcamcorderwithatowel,forexample,andoperateit.Doingso mightcauseheattobuildupinside.

•Keepyourcamcorderawayfromstrongmagneticfieldsormechanicalvibration. •DonottouchtheLCDscreenwithyourfingersorasharp-pointedobject.

•If your camcorder is used in a cold place, a residual image may appear on the LCD screen.Thisisnotamalfunction.

•While using your camcorder, the back of the LCD screen may heat up. This is not a malfunction.

Built-in light

•Donotknockorjoltthebuilt-inlightwhileitisturnedonasitmaydamagethebulb orshortenthelifeofthebulb.

•Donotleavethebuilt-inlightonwhileitisrestingonoragainstsomething;itmay causeafireordamagethebuilt-inlight.

On handling tapes

Donotinsertanythingintothesmallholesontherearofthecassette.Theseholesare usedtosensethetypeandthicknessofthetapeandiftherecordingtabisinorout.

Information Additional

Camcorder care

•Removethetape,andperiodicallyturnonthepower,operatetheCAMERAandVTR (CCD-TRV87)/PLAYER (CCD-TRV17/TRV37/TRV57/TRV67) sections and play back atapeforabout5minuteswhenyourcamcorderisnottobeusedforalongtime.

•Cleanthelenswithasoftbrushtoremovedust.Iftherearefingerprintsonthelens, removethemwithasoftcloth.

•Cleanthecamcorderbodywithadrysoftcloth,orasoftclothlightlymoistenedwith amilddetergentsolution.Donotuseanytypeofsolventwhichmaydamagethe finish.

•Donotletsandgetintoyourcamcorder.Whenyouuseyourcamcorderonasandy beachorinadustyplace,protectitfromthesandordust. Sandordustmaycause yourcamcordertomalfunction,andsometimesthismalfunctioncannotberepaired.
