Switching the speaker output

You can select from three different speaker output modes: the front L/R speakers, the front L/R speakers and the subwoofer, and the front L/ R speakers, center speaker, surround L/R speakers and the subwoofer.

When using only the front L/R speakers or the front L/R speakers and the subwoofer, the multi channel sound is downmixed and played on two channels.

Automatic decoding of the audio input signal

The auto decoding function automatically detects the type of audio signal being input (Dolby Digital, DTS, or standard 2 channel stereo) and performs the proper decoding if necessary. This mode presents the sound as it was recorded/encoded, without adding any effects (e.g. reverberation).

However, if there are no low frequency signals (Dolby Digital LFE, etc.), it will generate a low frequency signal for output to the subwoofer.

1 Press SPEAKER OUT MODE repeatedly until “5.1CH” appears.

2 Press SOUND FIELD + or – repeatedly until “A.F.D. AUTO” appears.Using only the front speakers and subwoofer (2 CHANNEL STEREO)

This mode outputs the sound from the front L/R speakers (2CH), or the front L/R speakers and subwoofer (2.1CH). Standard two channel (stereo) sources completely bypass the sound field processing. Multi channel surround formats are downmixed to two channels.

This allows you to play any source using only the front L/R speakers and subwoofer.

1 Press SPEAKER OUT MODE repeatedly until “2CH” or “2.1CH” appears.2 Press SOUND FIELD + or – repeatedly until “2CH STEREO” appears.
