♦DOWNMIX
You can select the downmix mode from “Surround” or “Normal”. The downmix function is used to create stereo
SURROUND Normally, select this position.
NORMAL
♦DIGITAL OUTPUT
You can set the mode of the audio signals output from the OPTICAL OUTPUT connector.
RAW Select this when you connect an audio component with a built in Dolby Digital decoder or DTS decoder.
PCM Select this when you connect an audio component without a
OFF No signal is output from OPTICAL OUTPUT connector.
Notes
•When “OFF” is selected, no signal is output from the OPTICAL OUTPUT connector.
•When you connect the player and a digital recording device such as an MD player through an optical cable to record the CD contents with that device, the contents will be recorded as one continuous track.
•If noise occurs in peripheral equipment when using DIGITAL OUTPUT, select “OFF” to turn off
DIGITAL OUTPUT.
•Sampling sound of 96kHz is changed to 48kHz.
•If the sound setting is changed to DTS by the AUDIO button or Disc menu, no sound is emitted from the speaker.
•When you connect to another unit which does not support the DTS function and change the sound setting to DTS, noise may occur. In this case, change the audio setting to other than DTS.
•While the playing back a CD, whether the DIGITAL OUTPUT is set to RAW or PCM, there is no difference in the audio effect.
♦DRC (Dynamic Range Control)
Makes the sound clear when the volume is turned down when playing a DVD that conforms to “Audio DRC“. You can set the DRC level from 9 steps (including “OFF“). This setting affects the outputs of OPTICAL OUTPUT.
MAX: Makes the low sounds clear even if you turn the volume down.
OFF: Set to enjoy the dynamic sound.
