Formatting a Memory Stick™
Memory Sticks™ are formatted for immediate use when yo u pu rch ase th em . If you need to reformat a
Memory Stick™ , use the Memory Stick Formatter software provided with your notebook. For more
details about using Memory Stick Format ter, refer to the help files.
To format a Memory Stick™, proceed as follows:
1Insert the Memory Stick™ into the notebook.
2Click the Start button, point to Programs, click Memory Stick Utility and then click Memory Stick
Formatter.
3Click Start Formatter.
Memory Stick Formatter starts.
!If you format a Memory Stick™ that al ready contains data, a ll the data (includin g music data) will be era sed. Confirm that the M emory Stick™ does
not contain files that you want to keep.
