I cannot play a DVD-ROM
If a region code warning appears when you are using the DVD player, it could be that the DVD-ROM you
are trying to play is incompatible with the DVD-ROM drive in your notebook. The region code is listed
on the packaging of the disc.
If you hear sound but cannot see vide o, your computer's video resolution ma y be set too high. For best
results, change the resolution in Wind ows Control Panel - Display - Settings to 800 x 600 using 8-bit
color.
If you see video but cannot hear sound, check all of the foll ow i ng :
Make sure the mute setting is off on your DVD player.
Check the master volume setting of the Audio Mixer. If you have connected speakers externally,
check the volume settings of your co mputer speakers and check the connections b etween your
speakers and the computer.
In the Device Manager, check that the correct drivers are installed properly. To display the Device
Manager, click Start, point to Settings and click Control Panel. Double-click the System icon. On
the Hardware tab, click the Device Manager button.
A dirty or damaged disc may cause the computer to 'hang' while it tries to read the disc. If necessary,
reboot the computer, remove the disc and then check that it is not dirty or damaged.
On your computer, the default DVD region c ode is 2. Do not chan ge this setting using the Region Code Change func tion in Windows®, or using any
other software applications. System malfunct ions originating from the user c hanging the DVD region code, are beyond the scope of your warr anty
and will result in service charges for repair.
My USB floppy disk drive cannot write to a diskett e
The diskette is write-protected. Disable the write-protect feature or use a diskette that is not write-
protected.
Check that the diskette is properly inserted into the floppy disk drive.
Your diskette may be corrupt. Try to insert another diskette.
