If you press the power button for m ore than four seconds, the comp uter will switch off automat ically.
When the computer is in Standby mode, you cannot insert a disk.
Standby requires less time than Hibernate.
Standby uses more power than Hibernate.
If you do not work with your computer on AC power for 30 minut es, it will enter System Standby mode.
As a result, if you are using the CD-RW/DVD-RO M co mbi drive or DVD-ROM drive, the operation w ill b e
interrupted.
To avoid this, proceed as follows:
1Right-click the PowerPanel icon in the taskbar.
2Right-click Edit/Create Profiles.
3In the left panel , select AC Power.
4In the right panel, right-click Standby timer - 30 min (this is the default time) and select Off.
5When you close the window , the Profile Editor message box appears asking if you want to save the new
settings.
6Click Yes.
Using Hibernate mode
The state of the system is saved on the hard disk and power is turned off. The power indicator light is off in
this mode.
To activate Hibernate mode, proceed as follows:
Press <Fn>+<F12>.
