Set the mode switch to , and turn on the power.

When shooting pictures with the camera, be careful so that your fingers do not block the lens portion, flash emitter or microphone. (page 10)

Hold the camera steadily with both hands and position the subject in the center of the focus frame.

The minimum focal distance to a subject is approx. 50 cm (19 3/4 inches). To shoot subjects at distances closer than this, use the close-ups (Macro) mode (page 35).

The frame indicated on the LCD screen shows the focus adjustment range (AF range finder, page 57).
