Configuring Your Modem
Follow the steps below to make the settings before using the built-in mode m.
Features and options may not be available on your computer.
See the specifications to find out about configuration of your computer.
1Click Start and Control Panel.
2Select Large icons or Small icons from View by in the upper right corner of the window.
3Click Phone and Modem.
4Enter the required information, and then click OK.
The Phone and Modem window appears.
5Select your location on the Dialing Rules tab and click Edit.
The Edit Location window appears.
6Select your location under Country/region.
7Select Tone or Pulse for Dial using.

Pulse dial may not be supported in some counties or areas.
8Enter an area code (if there is one).
In some countries or regions, you do not need to enter an area code.
If you need to dial a special number before accessing an outside line, enter the number for both To access an outside
line for local calls, dial and To access an outside line for long-distance calls, dial.
9Click OK.
10 Click OK in the Phone and Modem window appears.
