Only use the power cable supplied with the printer. Note that this power cable
is fitted with a ground pin. This grounding is an important safety feature and
should not be ignored. If a suitable grounded socket is not available, contact
a qualified electrician to rectify the situation.
2.6 CONNECTING THE INTERFACE CABLE
The host computer transmits information to the printer along an interface
cable. The printer is provided with two types of interface (serial and parallel).
No interface cable is supplied as standard with the printer. Determine the
kind of interface cable (serial or parallel) you want to use, and purchase the
appropriate cable from your supplier.
1. Before connecting the interface cable, make sure that the power to the
printer and the computer is turned off.
2. Plug one end of the interface cable into the appropriate connector on the
rear side of the printer.
3. For parallel (Centronics) interface, secure the cable connector using
connector clips. For serial interface, fasten the cable connector using
screws.
