2.Installing/removing hot-swap SCSI drives
Four SCSI drive bays are located in the front of the chassis, making them easily accessible for installation and removal. These SCSI drives are hot- swap units, meaning they can be installed and removed without powering down the system. To remove, first push the release button located beside the drive LEDs, then swing the handle fully out and use it to pull the unit straight out.
Use caution when working around the SCSI backplane. Do not touch the backplane with any metal objects and make sure no
! ribbon cables touch the backplane or obstruct the holes, which aid in proper airflow.
Important: Regardless of how many SCSI drives are installed,
!all four drive carriers must remain in the drive bays to main- tain proper airflow.
SCA Backplane
