2-2 Front Connector and Pin Defi nitions
#1. Internal SAS Connector
The Internal SAS port connects to the back- plane allowing the motherboard to access the hard drives. This connector supports up to four HDD ports. This card supports SAS, SATA1, and SATA2 drives.

The External SAS port (J4) allows the moth- erboard to connect to an external backplane or hard drives. This connector supports up to four hard drives. This card supports SAS, SATA1, and SATA2 drives.
