LED Definitions
In addition to beep sequences, the digital imager scanner uses a two-color LED to indicate status. Table 2-2
defines LED colors that display during scanning.
Scanning in Hand-Held Mode
Install and program the digital imager scanner (see Setting Up the Digital Imager Scanner on page 1-3). For
assistance, contact the local supplier or the local Symbol Global Interaction Center.

Scanning with the Digital Imager Scanner

1. Ensure all connections are secure (see the appropriate host chapter.)
2. Aim the digital imager scanner at the bar code.

3. When the digital imager scanner senses movement, in its default Auto Aim trigger mode, it projects a red
laser aiming pattern (shown in Figure 2-9) which allows positioning the bar code or object within the field of
view. (To turn off the default Auto Aim trigger mode, see Trigger Mode on page 4-8.)

If necessary, the digital imager scanner turns on its red LEDs to illuminate the target bar code.

Standard LED Definitions
LED Indication
Off No power is applied to the digital imager scanner, or the digital imager scanner is on
and ready to scan.
Green A bar code was successfully decoded.
Red A data transmission error or digital imager scanner malfunction occurred.
