Do I need to log in before I start usi ng the TCS?
If the Content Server has Guest Access enabled, no re gistration is
necessary. Conferences tha t are available for all users w hen Guest
Access is enabled can be viewe d by anyone with access to the URL.
If Guest Access is not enable d, users need a user name an d
password to access the Content Ser ver.
What are the differences between Users, Owners and
Editors?
Users are only able to view Live and On Dem and Conferences
that they have access to as well as downlo ad any files for these
conferences, when they are read y.
Owners can make ad hoc calls from the Inter face and can also
have their own Personal Recordin g Aliases so they can edit th e
Conference Permissions an d Metadata for a call.
Editors (and Owners) can edit a c onference after it has co mpleted.
They can change Conference Pe rmissions, Metadata, an d
Thumbnails, the content through t he Content Editor, and add
additional Outputs. They can a lso delete Conferences f rom the
Recorded Conference listin g.
How can I find it? Is it in the phonebook?
If your Content Server has been a dded to TANDBERG Management
Suite (TMS) you can book your c onference in TMS and sele ct a
recording alias to record the confe rence. TMS will also provid e a link
to view the Live and Recorded Confe rence.
Must things be set up in advance?
It is best to have your Personal Record ing Alias setup in advance s o
Live viewers can watch the recorde d conference and also your u sers
can view the conference after i t has completed and the data ha s
been processed.
Can I / How do I do ad hoc recordings?
Any User who is also an Owner, whether the y have a Personal
Recording Alias or not, can make ad ho c calls from the interfac e
using the available System Reco rding Aliases. From an endp oint
users can dial the TANDBERG Content Ser ver if they have been
given a Personal Alias numbe r to dial. If they are not using their ow n
personal alias and if they are not i n the Edit list for the Conferen ce,
they will not be able to see or edit it onc e the conference has star ted.
How can everyone involved be informed that this
meeting is being recorded? Doe s the system tell us?
The endpoint in the recorded ca ll will display a poster to tell use rs
that the call is being recorded. In a m ultisite call, the poster will b e
displayed as one of the particip ants in the conference.
How can we inform users to watch a Live or recorded
Conference?
An e-mail can be sent from the Inter face once the conferen ce has
started recording. If the call ha s been scheduled usin g TMS, it will be
listed and the link will take users to the L ive or Recorded Confere nce
in the Viewer.
How do I stop an ongoing recording?
A recording can be stopped from the i nterface or by ending the ca ll
from the endpoint in the call.
What editing options do I have for the recorded
material?
Editors can change the start or end ti me of a conference, add Index
points in the conference to make it eas ier for users to find the content
they want and add another conferen ce to the currently edited one.
How do I make the recorded material available to other
people? Password protection etc.
Use the Permissions section of the Recording Al ias or Conference
to make conferences available to othe rs. If it is password protected,
they need to know the password.
How do I erase recorded material?
Editors can delete conferences and a ll associated data but
individual outputs cannot b e deleted. i.e. if an iPod download has
been created, it cannot be deleted exc ept by deleting the whole
conference.
