SYSTEM menu features

These features determine the settings for either the
whole system, or for the individual drive on which
the settings are made.

Dimmer settings

Individual settings for each drive.
The illumination level of the displays can be set
using this menu option. Adjust thi s to suit the ambi-
ent lighting levels, personal preferen ce, etc.
1Press the appropriate MENU key.
2Turn the MULTI DIAL until SYSTEM MENU?
appears in the display. Push the MULTI DIAL.
3Turn the MULTI DIAL until DIMMER ?
appears in the display. Push the MULTI DIAL.
4Turn the MULTI DIAL to set the value to
DIMMER> x? (where x can be from 1 (darkest)
to 8 (brightest).
5Push the MULTI DIAL.

Meter peak hold

Individual settings for each drive.
When playing back, the meters sh ow the level of the
signal read from the disc. The hold time of the meters
(the time at which the loudest segments stay lit) can
be set.
NOTE
For drive 2, this setting also affects the metering for
recording.
1Press the appropriate MENU key.
2Turn the MULTI DIAL until SYSTEM MENU?
appears in the display. Push the MULTI DIAL.
3Turn the MULTI DIAL until PEAKHOLD ?
appears in the display. Push the MULTI DIAL.
4Turn the MULTI DIAL to set the value to
P_HOLD> x.xs (where x.x can be from 0.0 to 2.5 in
0.1 second increments).
Alternatively, between the highest and l owest
setting values, there is also a HOLD setting,
which keeps the highest value displayed (the
rightmost segment is lit) until thi s value is
changed.
Reset the peak readings by pushing the
MULTI DIAL.
5Push the MULTI DIAL.

Timer play

Only available from drive 1 and only applies to drive
1.
When power is applied to the CD-RW402 and a disc
is loaded in drive 1, playback can start automatically.
If continuous playback is selected (see Repeat play-
back on page 24), playback starts with drive 1, and
when this ends, continues on drive 2.
Drive 2 cannot be selected to start playback
1Press MENU key 1.
2Turn the MULTI DIAL until SYSTEM MENU?
appears in the display. Push the MULTI DIAL.
3Turn the MULTI DIAL until TIMERPLAY ?
appears in the display. Push the MULTI DIAL.
4Turn the MULTI DIAL to set the value to
TM_PLAY>OFF? or TM_PLAY>ON?.
5Push the MULTI DIAL.
