Redefining the end point
It may be useful to end the playback of a track at a
different point from the one marked by the track
boundary (avoiding a messy ending, or sound
recorded after the end of the take, etc.).
1Set the point at which the new start p oint is
to occur. You may find that the jog function is
useful here (“Using the jog function” on
page 23).
2Press the MENU key and turn the MULTI DIAL
until the display shows TOCEDIT ?. Push the
MULTI DIAL.
3Turn the MULTI DIAL until the display shows
End Pt SET?. Push the MULTI DIAL.
The display now shows PtSET OK ?.
4Push the MULTI DIAL to set the end point of
the current track at the playback position
point.
Clearing the virtual TOC
If you want to restore the original TOC, and clear all
the edits, you can always eject the disc or turn the
power off, or you can follow the procedure below:
1With the drive stopped (not in ready mode),
press the MENU key and turn the MULTI DIAL
until the display shows TOCEDIT ?. Push the
MULTI DIAL.
2Turn the MULTI DIAL until the display shows
ALL CANCEL?. Push the MULTI DIAL.
The display now shows CANCELOK ?.
3Push the MULTI DIAL. The flashing
NO TOC
goes out, and the original TOC values (total
running time and number of tracks) are dis-
played.
NOTE
If no edits have been made to the TOC, the
TOC EDIT
menu does not appear in step 1 with the drive stopped.
It will appear in ready or play mode, allowing you to
perform a TOC editing operation.
