NOTE

DO NOT operate an electric starter for more than 5 seconds each attempt.

5.Push starter button or turn ignition switch key to start engine.

6.When engine starts, release starter button or ignition switch key.

7.If engine fails to start after 3 attempts repeat steps 2 thru 6 and try again.

8.If engine does NOT start after following steps 1 thru 7, contact your Authorized Tecumseh Servicing Dealer. DO NOT attempt to start or troubleshoot this engine in any other way.

II. Choke Only

1.To avoid carbon monoxide poisoning, be sure engine is outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

2.Move engine throttle control to “CHOKE” or “START” position, if present (see equipment manufacturer’s instructions). See Figures 12, 13 and 16 starting on page 7. Afterward, continue reading instructions below.

NOTE

If restarting a warm engine after a short shutdown, move engine throttle control to “FAST” position instead of “CHOKE” or “START” position. See Figures 12, 13 and 16 starting on page 7. Afterward, continue reading instructions below.

3.Operate equipment control to release engine brake or clutch, if present (see equipment manufacturer’s instructions). See Figure 12 on page 7. Afterward, con- tinue reading instructions below.
