4.17 MDC modem/USB board 4 Replacement Procedures
Installing the MDC modem/USB board
To install the MDC modem/USB board, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 4-31 and
4-32.
1. Set the USB board to the slot of the base assembly while engaging the latches.
2. Connect the USB harness to the connector CN9560 on the system board and
connector CN9660 on the USB board.
3. Connect the RJ11 harness to the connector on the MDC modem.
4. Connect the MDC modem to the connector CN3010 on the USB board by pressing it
carefully and secure it with the following screws.
• M2.0×4B BIND screw ×2
CAUTION: Remove and connect the MDC modem from/on the USB board
perpendicularly, otherwise it may damage the MDC modem and connectors.
5. Set the RJ 11 harness to the slot and arrange it in place.
NOTE: In the case of the 15.4-inch model, arrange the harnesses as shown in the figure
below.
Connect the side with a line of the USB harness to the connector on the system
board.
