4.21 System board
CAUTION: When replacing with a new system board, the following procedures must
be executed.
(1) Before replacing the system board, execute subtest02 “DMI
ggginformation save” in 3.3 Setting of the hardware configuration of
gggChapter 3 Test program in order to save the DMI information from
gggsystem board to floppy disk.
(2) After replacing the system board, execute the subtest03 “DMI
ggginformation recovery” and subtest01 “Entry of the DMI information”
gggin order to copy the DMI information and system configuration
ggginformation.
(3) Also update the BIOS and EC/KBC with the latest ones according to
the steps described in Appendix G and Appendix H.
Removing the System board
To remove the system board, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 4-37 to 4-38.
1. Peel off the glass tape and disconnect the sound board FFC from the connector
CN9530 on the system board.
2. Take out the DC-IN jack from the slot.
3. Remove the following the screw(s) and system board.
