SECTION 4: OPERATION
Pre-start Checklist:
1.Review" Section 1: Safety" and"Section 3: Controls'.
2.Check the snowthrower for any loose or missing hardware.
3.Check the engine oil level.
4.Check the level of the gas in the gas tank.
5.Check the skid shoe (Figure
6.Check the scraper blade (Figure
7.Check the discharge chute crank (Figure
8.Make sure that the chute guard (Figure
D)is installed.
9.Check the handlebar control levers (Figure
10.Check the tire pressure. Make sure both tires are inflated equally. Correct tire pressure is 15 to 20 PSI.

Starting
1. Fill the snowthrower'sgas tank as follows:
A,DANGER Gasoline is highly flammable and its vapors are explosive.
•Never fill gas tank when engine is running or still hot from operation. Allow engine and muf- fler to cool at least 2 minutes before refueling.
•Do not allow open flames, sparks, matches, or smoking in the area.
