Software & Driver Updates

Software updates and installation instructions for the USB Virtual COM Port driver, the Velodyne Digital DrivePLUS Windows Setup Program, and the Velodyne Digital DrivePLUS subwoofer firmware can all be found at www.velodyne.com.

The Velodyne Digital DrivePLUS subwoofer firmware updates are applicable regardless of whether any of the user interfaces are used or not.

All firmware update instructions are included with the updates on the Velodyne website. When updating, be sure to read ALL readme.txt files and other instruction at the Velodyne website to make sure that you update the software correctly.

The Digital DrivePLUS subwoofer firmware is updated through an RS-232 EXTENSION cable. A null modem or crossover cable will not work. Be sure that you have an extension cable before you attempt to update these. The USB Virtual COM Port driver and the Velodyne Digital DrivePLUS Windows Setup Software only update through the controlling Windows computer, so no attachment is necessary to the subwoofer for their updates and no changes are made to the subwoofer by these updates.
