Before Using:

Before Using:

Remove all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers from your waffler.

Be sure all parts (listed under Features) of your new appliance have been included before discarding any packaging materials. You may want to keep the box and packing materials for use at a later date.

Before using your VillaWare® waffler for the first time, remove any dust from shipping by wiping the base, cover and controls with a damp cloth. Thoroughly clean waffle plates, and drip tray.

How To:

For best results, follow these simple instructions.

When your waffler is heated for the first time, it may emit slight smoke or odor. This is normal with many heating appliances. This does not affect the safety of your appliance. However, it may affect the flavor of the first set of waffles prepared in your waffler, and it is recommended that you discard these.

Preparing Your Flip Belgian Waffler

1Close the waffler and plug it into the wall outlet. Push the center of the control knob to turn on the power, the center light ring will turn on and begin to pulse. Turn to desired temperature setting.

It will take approximately 5 to 8 minutes to reach baking temperature. When the center lighted ring stays on and beeps, the waffler is pre-heated and ready for use.

2Before baking the first waffles of the day, use a pastry brush to lightly coat the top and bottom waffle grids with vegetable oil. A light coating of non-stick cooking spray also works well.

Baking

1When the desired baking temperature is reached, the light stays solid and beeps. Once heated up, cycle times will be faster.

2Pour batter onto bottom grid of waffler. Ladle just enough batter to fill lower grid so that the peak area of the grid is covered. If necessary, use a spatula to spread the batter into the corners of the grid. At this point the light will pulse again as the baking cycle begins.

3Close waffler and immediately flip/rotate unit 180˚ to the left (counterclockwise). Keep lid closed as opening the lid too soon will cause under-baked waffles to split, making them difficult to remove.

4When the center light ring stays solid and the units beeps, flip/rotate waffler back 180˚ to the right (clockwise). Your waffles should be done. If you want them darker, close the lid and continue baking until the desired color is achieved. If you continue to bake the waffle after the normal cycle is completed, for browner waffles, you will need to watch the waffle to achieve your desired doneness

as the unit will no longer beep to indicate a completed cycle.

5Remove waffles from the grid using non-metallic utensils.

6If additional baking is to be done, close waffler to retain heat, and again to pre-heat the waffler to the desired temperature. Always be sure the center light ring stays solid ( not pulsing) and the waffler again beeps, then it is ready for the next waffle.

7If you need to take a short break, close waffler to maintain heat. When you return to baking, you will notice that the first waffles will bake faster because extra heat has been allowed to build up.

8Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is being used by or near children.

9When baking is complete, simply unplug the power cord from wall outlet. Leave waffler open to cool. Do not clean until unit has cooled.
