Troubleshooting
Caller ID entries do not matc h the numbers I need to dial.
Caller ID service deliver s 10 digits (the area code plus the seven-di gits number). If
you need to dial something other 10 digi ts, see page 25 for instructions on ch anging
the number.
If you dial seven digits for local c alls you might want to use the Home area c ode
feature (page 11).
CONNECTING.. . shows in the handset screen.
The handset might be out of rang e. Move it closer to the telephone base.
Make sure the power cord is securel y plugged into the telephone base. Use a
working electrical ou tlet not controlled by a wall switch.
Reset your telephone by unplugg ing the power adapter from the telephone ba se.
Disconnect the batter y from the cordless handset. Wait fo r 15 seconds, then plug
in the power adapter and re-inst all the battery. Place the handset in the te lephone
base and allow up to one minute for the h andset and telephone base to synchro nize.
Other electronic prod ucts might prevent your handset and teleph one base from
communicating with each o ther. Install your telephone base as far away from
these electronic devic es as possible: wireless routers, rad ios, cellular telephones,
intercoms, room monitors , televisions, personal computer s, kitchen appliances and
other cordless telephon es.
Common cure for electroni c equipment.
If the telephone is not respon ding normally, put the cordless hands et in the
telephone base. If it does not res pond, try the following (in the ord er listed):
Disconnect the power to the te lephone base.
Disconnect the batter y on the cordless handset.
Wait a few minutes before connectin g power to the telephone base.
Re-install the batter y and place the cordless hands et in the telephone base
or charger.
Wait for the cordless handset to sy nchronize with the telephone base. Al low up to
one minute for this to take place.
